At Outcomes First Group, we believe life is about more than work. That’s why many of our schools are trialling a 4-Day Working Week (4DWW)—work one day less each week while keeping full pay. Now’s the perfect time to join #teamOFG and put your wellbeing first.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated, energetic, and inspiring Food Technology Tutor to join our dedicated team. This is more than a teaching role — it’s an opportunity to help young people rediscover trust, develop life skills, and experience success through creativity, structure, and meaningful relationships. Our pupils may have experienced trauma or complex backgrounds, but with the right support, consistency, and care, they can thrive — and your role will be central to that journey.

As a Food Technology Tutor, you will design and deliver high-quality, engaging, and practical learning experiences across Key Stages 3 and 4. You’ll bring Food Technology to life in a way that builds independence, resilience, and pride, while ensuring lessons are accessible, differentiated, and safe for learners with a wide range of additional needs.

You’ll play an important role in creating a calm, purposeful, and nurturing learning environment, supporting not just academic progress but emotional wellbeing too. Flexibility is key, as you’ll also provide cover when required and support learning across the wider curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

Planning and delivering innovative, high-quality Food Technology lessons
Leading the effective delivery of Food Technology across KS3 and KS4
Differentiating learning to meet the needs of pupils with diverse and complex needs
Creating a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment
Supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing and personal development
Providing cover for absent teachers or tutors when required
Contributing positively to the wider life and culture of the school
What we're looking for

You’ll be someone who is calm, resilient, and passionate about helping young people succeed. Ideally, you will bring:

Experience working with young people, ideally within an SEN setting
A background in Food Technology, catering, or a related discipline
Experience supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviour
A willingness to use safety interventions, including physical restraint, following appropriate training
A belief in relationship-led practice and educating the whole child
Full UK Driving Licence
At Fieldstone, you’ll be part of a team that truly believes in second chances, celebrates progress in all its forms, and supports staff to grow alongside pupils. Your creativity, care, and commitment will make a real and lasting difference.

About us

Fieldstone School is an independent day school, supporting the most vulnerable young people in society aged 5-16; those children who do not find it easy to fit into existing educational provision. This can be for many reasons, including a range of behavioural, emotional and educational challenges, exacerbated by being on the autistic spectrum. Other difficulties such as sensory processing disorders, attachment disorders or those having faced trauma in their lives.

It is our intention that every student will achieve their full potential in both academic and personal development. As a day school, we provide an alternative to residential education which supports our students to develop independence and social skills whilst living in their home environment.

Why Join Us?
