Summary


We are seeking a passionate and experienced Physical Activity Leadto join ourStartwell Team, part of Birmingham’s obesity prevention programme for Early Years settings. The successful candidate will have experience working within Early Years settings and hold relevant qualifications in Physical Activity.

Startwell supports nurseries, Children’s Centre, parents, and health professionals to create healthier environments for children and families. The programme focuses oneight key messagesaround physical activity, food and oral health, helping Early Years settings achieve theStartwell Awardby meeting set criteria.

The team has a variety of job roles including Nutritionists and Early Years lead. This allows for shared learning and experiences within the team. The post holder will manage their own caseload of Early Years settings, guiding them through the Startwell Award process and offering tailored support.

In addition, the post holder willdesign and deliver trainingon Startwell and physical activity for Early Years settings and professionals at centralised sessions. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference to children’s health and wellbeing across Birmingham.

The service supports personal development via CPD opportunities, mentoring, clinical supervision and departmental Clinical Update meetings.
