Dounreay is working at the forefront of nuclear decommissioning, waste management and environmental restoration. The people we train today will have the opportunity to be involved in some of the most exciting technical projects in the world and to develop skills which will be increasingly needed both at Dounreay and in other areas of industry

This programme provides unique and challenging opportunities.

This graduate apprenticeship is a comprehensive training programme lasting up to 4 years. During this period, you will undertake training and work experience at Dounreay within our various project teams, assisting with both our new build and decommissioning projects to develop the skills necessary for the modern professional Civil Engineer. You will attend UHI Inverness on block release to gain BEng Civil Engineering.

What do I do?
Over the 4 years you will work at the Dounreay site alongside project teams as well as spend some time in the design office (hybrid may be available in final 2 years), on 6 month rotations whilst attending UHI Inverness on block release for academic studies.
