Summary
We’re Hiring: Childcare Assistant / Co-Childminder
Hours: between 19 to 24.5 hours per week Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 8:00am – 5:30pm
Setting: Home-based childcare
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Childcare Assistant with some flexibility in their availability to work a minimum 19 hours during term time and to cover additional hours to approximately 24.5 hours during school holidays to join our small, professional team within a high-quality home-based childcare setting.
You will support the care, learning, and development of children aged 0–5 years, creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children learn through play. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about early years education and inclusive practice.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality day-to-day care, including mealtimes, toileting, and nappy changing
Plan and deliver engaging play-based learning experiences based on children’s interests and developmental needs
Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment, with safeguarding as a priority
Prepare snacks, drinks, and meals as required
Complete observations, assessments, and records in line with the EYFS, Development Matters, and Birth to Five frameworks
Communicate effectively with parents and relevant professionals regarding children’s progress
Requirements
We would be willing to consider an apprentice for this role aged 17years +
Level 3 Early Years qualification desirable (experience considered; training support available)
Good knowledge of early childhood development
Strong communication skills and a professional, respectful approach
Enhanced DBS check and Ofsted approval required (support provided)
Paediatric First Aid qualification required (training support available)
Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification advantageous but training can be given
