A vibrant school in Carlisle, is looking for someone to support the teacher working 1-1 or in small groups. This Teaching assistant role is ideal for enthusiastic individuals with SEND experience.
The school is a welcoming, inclusive and warm environment, with supportive senior leadership, they are looking for someone to work part time 8:30- 12:30.
The Role
- Working closely with the teacher to adapt the curriculum to child's needs
- Understanding the needs of children with SEND
- To help the child build confidence and reach milestones
- Working inside and outside the classroom environment

- Is ambitious about the progress of young people
- Has excellent communication skills
- Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement tailored support plans
- Be compassionate, patient and committed to inclusive education
- A background in early years, care, health, or social work
- Patience, flexibility, active listening, and ability to build a great relationship
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast based classroom environment
Qualifications & Skills
- A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or a background in education or care.
- Experience supporting children with SEND
- Passionate working with young children or adults with disabilities

Mon - Fri 8:30 - 3:30
Term time
Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
