Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Pastoral Officer to support pupils with SEMH in one of our inspirational Alternative Provisions in Newcastle to start ASAP on a full-time Temp to Perm basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development.
About the School:
- The role is based in an inspirational Alternative Provision in Newcastle.
- The School supports pupils aged 11-18 with varying levels of SEMH who have been temporarily excluded from mainstream School.
- The School has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a Team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils.
Pay, Hours and Contract:
- Pay - Between £95-110 per day
- Hours - 08.30-16.00. Full-time
- Contract - Temporary to Permanent Contract
- Start Date - ASAP
- Location - Newcastle
About the Role:
- In this role you will be supporting the operational leadership of the pastoral system across the academy with the aim of raising the aspirations/self-esteem and attendance of students as well as supporting the development of enrichment activities which contribute to students' emotional and academic development.
- You will also liaise with staff, parents, other education institutions and multi-agency partners to support students' progress and overall development.
Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:
- A Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare-based Qualification (desired)
- Experience of working with children with SEMH and challenging behaviour
- An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.
- Experience within a PRU and Alternative Provision setting
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional references that cover the last two years
