We're looking for a Junior AWS/Python Developer to join our Enterprise Systems team and help build and maintain the systems that connect services across the University of Sheffield.
You'll work on integrations and applications that support our student record systems and other key university services, using Python and modern cloud technologies. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive team environment, working on meaningful projects that impact over 30,000 students and staff.
You'll be part of a team that's modernising our technology landscape, with plenty of opportunities to learn about AWS cloud environments, integration patterns, and software development best practices.
What You'll Be Doing:
● Work with senior colleagues to develop new applications and learn about designing and setting up our AWS cloud environments using reliable, scalable and secure tools
● Follow team processes and standards for development, including writing clear documentation, adding logging and error handling, and sharing knowledge with colleagues
● Help identify where processes could be automated and contribute to implementing automation, testing, security and maintenance improvements
● Maintain existing systems, applications, integrations and data processing supported by the team
● Work as part of project and Scrum teams, and sometimes independently, on a variety of projects
● Keep up to date with new technologies, develop your skills, and learn about emerging tools and approaches
● Embed sustainability and ethical decision-making into your work, supporting the University's broader mission
If you're looking for an exciting and rewarding role where you can truly makes a difference, we encourage you to apply! Join us in building a seamlessly connected and inspiring learning experience.
The University of Sheffield is a remarkable place to work. Our people are at the heart of everything we do. A diverse group of backgrounds, abilities and beliefs make Sheffield a world-class university.
