Our blended KS3 curriculum covers digital literacy, IT and Computer Science which has resulted in a strong uptake with students picking OCR GCSE Computer Science at KS4. This success is underpinned by collaborative working across Computer Science teachers and Heads of Departments within the trust and strong links with our director team. The director team offers regular CPD opportunities to upskill in subject-specific areas and improve teaching practice. The department teaches both Computer Science and Business Studies at KS4. In the Trust we also offer iMedia as a qualification within the Computing department.

Please note: the post holder will be engaging in regulated activity, working mainly or wholly with children. This position is exempt from the rehabilitation of offenders act 1974. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

Northern Education Trust (NET) is a charitable education Trust with a good track record for school improvement. The Trust sponsors 30 academies; 17 secondary and 13 primaries across the North of England in fourteen Local Authority regions.

Denton’s academic performance has seen a remarkable turnaround in just two academic years, with exam outcomes doubling and now above the national averages. The 2025 performance tables data indicates that Denton was outperformed only by two selective schools in Tameside in terms of the percentage of students who pass English and Maths at a Grade 5 or higher placing it third overall on key attainment measures and the highest-performing non-selective school in the borough.

Perhaps most significantly, Denton is on track to be named Tameside’s most improved school for the second year running reflecting the hard work of staff and students, and the transformative impact of support from NET, a nationally recognised multi-academy trust with a strong record of driving rapid improvement in schools.

Northern Education Trust offers:

  • The opportunity to work and progress across the family of schools, should you wish in the future;
  • The chance to apply for leadership roles in the Deeps structure taking on a whole school leadership project;
  • The support and expertise of Director of Subjects.
  • A full and detailed programme of support and development for all;
  • A further comprehensive programme of professional development, including leadership, provided through the NET Staff College.
