Summary
Trust Responsibilities To support the effective and safe use of medicines within the CSUs, in line with agreed Trust priorities, and in line with pharmacys activities to optimise medicines management across the Trust and at the interfaces with primary and tertiary care. To be part of the Pharmacy team and work with staff within the pharmacy department and across the Trust, to enable the objectives of the Trust to be achieved. To contribute to the Trust complying with Trust and Pharmacy Procedures, Medicines Management Standards and the Clinical Governance and Risk Management agendas. Professional Responsibilities To deliver safe, effective and efficient clinical pharmacy services; to contribute appropriately to the training and development of staff in pharmacy and within the CSUs to promote safer medicines use in line with Trust priorities. To assist the Principal Pharmacists in all medicines related matters which reflect the needs of the services and the Trust; to support the Principal Pharmacist to deliver their full portfolio to meet the overall needs of the Trust. Clinical Practice Role To practice in compliance with the General Pharmaceutical Council code of professional conduct within the scope of practice, being responsible and accountable for own decisions, actions and omissions. To demonstrate a critical understanding of broadened level of responsibility and autonomy and within the limits of own competence and professional scope of practice, including when working with complexity, risk, uncertainty and incomplete information. To act on professional judgement about when to seek help, demonstrating critical reflection on own practice, self-awareness, emotional intelligence and openness to change.
