Crynodeb
The main duties of the post holder will be on the Charing Cross Neurological Rehabilitation Unit (CNRU) and Rapid Access Acute Rehab (RAAR) beds. The post holder will be involved in clerking and managing inpatients on CNRU who have complex physical and cognitive impairments. To manage acutely unwell patients on the neuro rehab ward and refer to other specialties if required. The post-holder will take an active part in patient management and will be under the supervision of the Consultant in Rehabilitation medicine. They will participate in the ward rounds, multi-disciplinary meetings, diagnosis and prognosis meetings and goal setting meetings. They will also get training on how to assess new referrals for suitability for rehabilitation. They will have opportunities to do outpatient clinics as well as home visits in the community. There will also be exposure to specialist spasticity management (botulinum toxin injections and medical management of spasticity) . If interested opportunities to sit in on amputee rehabilitation clinics and the major trauma rehabilitation ward rounds. Candidates with minimum of 6 months experience working in NHS and/or experience working within neuro-rehabilitation will be considered. The post will involve rotating between stroke, neurology and neurorehabilitation.
