Hays Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with an extremely supportive and well-regarded three-form entry mainstream primary school in Halton. This school is looking to appoint an experienced and qualified teaching assistant for a long-term full-time temporary contract to plan and deliver comprehensive interventions in key areas and subjects. This is an extremely exciting opportunity to join an extremely supportive and welcoming school on a full-time basis. This contract is initially temporary, but the school will be considering a future permanent appointment for the right individual.
Your new role
As a teaching assistant within this school, you will be supporting all KS1 and KS2 classes on a required basis, working in collaboration with teachers to promote the learning and engagement of all pupils. You will plan, prepare and deliver comprehensive interventions in core subjects and required areas, including ELSA. The interventions that you will be holding will be a mix of 1:1 and small group sessions including small group intense interventions within a separate classroom. You will directly report to the SENCO and Head Teacher to ensure all feedback and key milestones are recognised.
Other duties will include:
- Phonics sessions within KS1 (RWI)
- SATs preparation
- Implementing a myriad of positive behaviour strategies
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK, relevant referenceable classroom experience, and:
- Good knowledge of the KS1 and KS2 national curriculums
- The ability to individually plan and deliver comprehensive interventions
- Be able to commit to a long-term full-time contract
