Summary

Senior Nursery Practitioner – £15 per hour – Permanent



This nursery provides care for toddlers and preschool children in a beautiful Victorian house with generous indoor and outdoor space. The Senior Nursery Practitioner role combines hands-on practice with responsibility for maintaining routines, standards, and quality across the room. Close working relationships with room leaders and management support consistent care and learning.



Before You Apply



  • This role requires prior experience as a Senior Nursery Practitioner or experienced Level 3 practitioner

  • A full and relevant Level 3 (or above) Early Years qualification is essential

  • This position is not suitable for candidates without nursery experience



Key Job Details



  • Rate of Pay: £15 per hour

  • Hours: Full-time, 4 days per week

  • Shift Pattern: 7:30am–6:30pm

  • Setting: Private day nursery

  • Age Group: Toddlers and Pre-School

What You’ll Need



  • Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification

  • Proven experience as a Senior Practitioner or confident Level 3 practitioner

  • Strong understanding of EYFS and safeguarding requirements

  • Confidence supporting children’s learning and daily routines


Desirable



  • Experience mentoring or junior practitioners

  • Additional safeguarding or specialist training



What You’ll Do



  • Support high-quality practice within your room and across the nursery

  • Act as a role model for practitioners, supporting standards and routines

  • Maintain safeguarding, welfare, and quality standards at all times

  • Contribute to planning, observations, and assessments

  • Support smooth daily operation of the nursery, including ratios and transitions
