We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Science Technician to join our team on a temporary, hourly paid basis to cover a short-term absence.The post is for up to 25 hours per week and will provide essential technical support across the Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science and Geology departments.Key ResponsibilitiesPreparing resources, equipment and materials for practical science experiments and demonstrationsControlling, maintaining and overseeing the safe storage and use of scientific equipment, chemicals and materialsSupporting teaching staff during practical activities where requiredAssisting with the care and maintenance of animals and plants within laboratories and preparation areasEnsuring laboratories and preparation rooms are kept clean, organised and compliant with health and safety requirementsThe Successful Candidate Will HaveExperience of working in a laboratory or school/college science environment (desirable)A good understanding of health and safety procedures, particularly in relation to chemicals and laboratory equipmentStrong organisational skills and attention to detailThe ability to work independently and as part of a teamA flexible and proactive approach to supporting staff and studentsHours & PayHourly paid positionUp to 25 hours per weekStart date: ImmediateThis role offers an excellent opportunity to support practical science education in a busy and varied department.For further information please contact Linda Randall, Head of Ludlow Sixth Form College.HLNSC is committed to safeguarding and promotes the welfare of all learners and expects all staff to share this commitment.
