Are you committed to helping young people take their next steps with confidence? Do you enjoy building meaningful connections that open doors to real‑world opportunities?
We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and motivated individual to join our Careers and Progression team as a Work Experience Coordinator & Administrator. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting students to access high‑quality work experience placements that develop their skills, broaden their aspirations, and enhance their future pathways.
You will be joining a friendly, supportive, and student‑focused team dedicated to delivering excellent careers guidance, employer engagement, and enriching experiences that help every learner reach their full potential.
About you
You will bring strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a busy and varied environment. With excellent communication skills, you will enjoy building relationships with a wide range of people, including employers, staff, students, and parents/carers.
We are looking for someone who is proactive, confident, and passionate about supporting young people to explore career pathways and gain valuable experience. You will have an eye for detail, a commitment to safeguarding, and the confidence to represent the College professionally when hosting events or conducting employer visits.
Your ability to work collaboratively, act with diplomacy and sensitivity, and provide a welcoming and supportive experience for all stakeholders will be key to your success in this role.
About the role
As our Work Experience Coordinator & Administrator, you will:
Coordinate the full work experience process, including sourcing placements, conducting site visits, completing risk assessments, and ensuring safeguarding and health & safety compliance.
Build and maintain strong relationships with employers to provide a wide range of high‑quality placement opportunities.
Support and host employer engagement events such as careers fairs, curriculum‑specific sessions, and networking opportunities.
Work closely with curriculum teams to embed employer-led activities that support student progression and meet Gatsby Benchmarks 5 and 6.
Track placement activity, gather feedback from students and employers, and maintain accurate records including data for Compass+.
Support the wider Careers and Progression team with day‑to‑day administration and careers-related events.
Promote equality, diversity and inclusion across all employer engagement activities.
This position is 20 hours per week, worked during term time only, as part of a friendly and professional team that values collaboration, reflection, and the sharing of ideas.
About us
We believe that exceptional support helps create exceptional outcomes for young people. By coordinating high‑quality work experience opportunities, you will play a vital role in helping students thrive, grow in confidence, and develop the skills they need for their future careers. Your contribution will help students flourish both personally and professionally, enabling them to become confident, resilient and aspirational individuals.
Just as we support our students to reach their potential, we also want our staff to feel valued and empowered. As part of our commitment to your development, we offer access to a comprehensive programme of professional learning, opportunities to expand your skills, and a collaborative environment where your contributions are recognised and appreciated.
Our vision is to be a welcoming and transformative sixth form college where every member of our community flourishes and achieves their full potential. Every colleague within our Careers and Progression team plays a key role in fulfilling that vision by contributing to a culture of high aspiration, excellent guidance, and meaningful real‑world experiences.
Interviews will be held as soon as possible after the closing date.
Based on the quality and quantity of applications received, we may shortlist, interview or close this vacancy sooner than the specified closing date. Therefore, early applications are encouraged.
