Location - Cannock (With flexibility to work from home, although core role to be a main office base)
Hours - Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

We are looking for a full time Assistant Financial Accountant as part of the Corporate team within the Industrial, Water and Energy (IWE) business. This role will have responsibility to support our Corporate activities and will require you to work closely with the relevant regions - including financial accountants, finance managers and various business partners- to perform analysis, accurately report the financial position and help drive future business performance.
What you'll do
Main duties will include:
- Produce monthly journals, management accounts reporting, reconciliations and variance analysis in a timely manner for the Corporate division;
- Assisting with the completion of monthly financial reporting (via the Vector tool) for entities within the Corporate remit;
- Complete the balance sheet and control account reconciliations monthly;
- Assisting with preparation of budgets and forecasts for the Corporate division;
- Assisting with audit queries to ensure they are dealt with promptly and coordinate responses from the IWE Team;
- Business partnering with various stakeholders within the wider IWE team for preparing, analysing and reporting of the IWE Contracts Control team;
- Undertaking ad hoc project work as required and remaining compliant with all Veolia policies and procedures.
The experience you will need
Essential:
- Confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships with multi layer stakeholders and management;
- Excellent spreadsheet skills - knowledge of Google Sheets ideal as well as Microsoft Excel and being able to interrogate and analyse large amounts of data;
- Previous experience in monthly financial/management accounts production to tight deadlines and providing relevant commentary and analysis;
- Self starter, self-motivated, with strong time management skills;
- Strong organisation skills and a high degree of professionalism;
- Ability to adapt to new processes and systems;
Desirable:
- Studying towards ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent qualification
- Financial and Statutory Accounts experience
- Experience with Workday, Google Suite and Vector Reporting
