Towing and trailers have an opportunity for a fitter in our workshop.
Location: Towing and Trailers Ltd Worksop
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Trailer Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing O1 and O2 category trailers (up to 3.5 tonnes). You will play a key role in ensuring our customers’ trailers remain safe, roadworthy, and compliant with regulations. With varied work including servicing, wiring, setting and repairing brakes, fabrication, modifications, changing floors and sides.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service, repair, and inspect O1 and O2 trailers to a high standard
- Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical, electrical, and brake system repairs
- Perform routine maintenance, including lights, tyres, suspension, and couplings
- Ensure all work complies with safety and industry standards
- Maintain accurate service records and job sheets
- Some welding and fabrication work
- Provide excellent customer service and technical support when required
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a trailer fitter, mechanic, or similar role
- Strong knowledge of O1 and O2 trailer components and systems
- Ability to fault-find and work independently
- Good understanding of health & safety practices
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)
- Welding or fabrication experience is an advantage but not essential
