We are recruiting to a part time Team Manager post, at 25.9 hours per week which covers 2 services and contracts. This post is currently fixed term to 30th June 2026, with the possibility of an extension to the majority of these hours. For candidates internal to Barnardo's, this vacancy can be considered under a secondment opportunity with current line manager approval.

The post will be home based, however there will be the need for face to face presence on occassion in both the Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire areas for meetings and staff support.

Are you able to:

Provide operational management and leadership of the two services (please see further information below), ensuring that children, young people, their families and hosts receive a high-quality service.
Work across services, prioritising service and staff needs.
Support and supervise teams of Project Workers and Keyworkers.
Work collaboratively to develop and maintain effective partnership working
Demonstrate a commitment to trauma informed practice and developing trauma informed services.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of safeguarding policies and practices and supporting staff in this area.
Show an understanding of the issues faced by care experienced young people and/ or Autistic young people and young people with a Learning Disability.
The services

Northamptonshire Keyworker service – 2.5 days per week (working days to include Thursday and Friday)

The Keyworker service across Northamptonshire is part of the NHS long term plan for all children and young people (CYP) with a learning disability, autism or both to have a designated Keyworker. The service works in partnership with Enfold who provide peer support to CYP.

Keyworkers work across the system with and for CYP and families, capitalising on cross-system knowledge and experience to help them effectively navigate services. They support lead professionals and work across sectors to facilitate timely and properly integrated assessment, care and support, including education, care and health services and processes.

The role of the Keyworker service is to be a system enhancer and involves being confident in challenging the system when necessary; and forming strong relationships with CYP and families. There is also a strong focus on practice development, and a commitment to sharing functions and principles back into all system partners.

Nottingham Supported Lodgings Service – 1 day per week

This service is currently commissioned by Nottingham City Council until 30th June 2026. The service involves the safe recruitment and support of supported lodgings hosts; who offer accommodation and support to care experienced and unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people aged 18 to 21 in their own home.
