Care Assistant – A Career That Truly Matters
£13.16 – £14.16 per hour | Full-Time & Part-Time | Permanent
At Devon Home Care, we do not just provide care — we change lives. Every visit you make, every conversation you have, and every small act of kindness helps someone remain safe, independent, and valued in their own home.
We are looking for compassionate, dependable people who want more than just a job. Whether you are already an experienced carer or someone searching for a meaningful career where your work genuinely makes a difference, we want to hear from you.
Why This Role Is Different
Care is about human connection. It is about giving reassurance, dignity, and comfort to people who rely on you. As a Care Assistant, you will support individuals with their daily routines, help them maintain independence, and offer companionship to those who may otherwise feel isolated. You will become a trusted presence in their lives and someone they look forward to seeing.
This is a role where your kindness, patience, and dedication will be noticed, appreciated, and valued every single day.
What We Give Back to You
We believe that people who give so much deserve to be supported, rewarded, and invested in. That is why we offer:
• Competitive hourly pay of £13.16–£14.16
• Enhanced rates for weekend and Bank Holiday work
• Mileage allowance for travel between calls
• A goodwill scheme providing a £50 shopping voucher twice a year
• Company pension scheme
• Paid sick leave
• Free parking
• Employee and store discounts
• Free annual flu vaccinations • Fully funded NVQ and Health & Social Care Diplomas
• A comprehensive paid training programme, with ongoing professional development
We do not expect you to come to us fully trained. We will support you from day one and help you grow into a confident, skilled, and valued care professional.
Training, Support, and Progression
If you are new to care, you will receive thorough training and hands-on support to ensure you feel confident and prepared. If you are experienced, you will be encouraged to build on your skills, take on new responsibilities, and progress within the organisation.
At Devon Home Care, you are not just a number. You are part of a team that looks out for one another and takes pride in delivering outstanding care.
Where You Will Work
We provide care across Dawlish, Teignmouth, Bishopsteignton, Kingsteignton, Newton Abbot, and Kingskerswell, and we are expanding into Bovey Tracey, Chudleigh, Torquay, and surrounding areas.
We understand that everyone’s life is different. That is why we work with you to offer flexible hours and local routes that fit around your commitments wherever possible.
What We Ask of You
• A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
• A caring, compassionate nature and a genuine desire to help others
• Reliability, professionalism, and respect for people’s dignity
• A willingness to learn and develop
Experience in care is welcomed but not essential. Your attitude and values matter most.
This Could Be the Most Rewarding Job You Ever Have
If you want to go home knowing that you have truly helped someone, if you want a career where your work has meaning, and if you want to be part of a team that genuinely cares — then this is your opportunity.
Apply today and become part of Devon Home Care, where compassion is at the heart of everything we do.
