About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrician to join our Facilities team. The role is responsible for the delivery of high-quality electrical maintenance, repair, and installation services, ensuring full compliance with statutory regulations, client requirements, and company standards.
This position operates within a regulated environment and requires a strong focus on health and safety, quality workmanship, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance in line with contract requirements.
- Inspect, test, diagnose, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components to ensure safety and compliance.
- Install, maintain, and rewire electrical systems in accordance with current wiring regulations.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using appropriate testing equipment.
- Identify hazards and defects and advise management where continued operation may be unsafe.
- Ensure all works are completed to a high standard and in compliance with building codes and safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and report faults, incidents, and risks to line management.
- Order materials and manage equipment in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are safe, serviced, and fit for purpose.
- Work independently where required to investigate and resolve electrical faults.
- Provide professional advice and support to clients and colleagues.
- Participate in training, team meetings, and emergency response activities as required.
Health, Safety and Compliance
- Comply fully with company and client health and safety policies, safe systems of work, COSHH, fire safety, and statutory regulations.
- Ensure appropriate safety signage and PPE are used at all times.
- Report all accidents, incidents, near misses, and hazards promptly.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Qualified to Level 6 NQAI Certificate in Electrical Craft Practice or equivalent.
- Proven experience working within an electrical maintenance or facilities environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, standards, and compliance requirements.
- Experience working in a regulated or compliance-driven environment.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative to resolve issues.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Basic IT skills, including use of Microsoft applications.
