Job title: Support Worker
Hours: 3 - 9 hours per week afternoons/weekends
(12-36 hours per month)
Pay: £13.50 per hour
Introduction:
LAMPETER RESIDENT, 70-YEAR-OLD FEMALE, SEEKS P.A. FOR CALM COMPANIONSHIP.
Ideal candidate qualities: Calm and grounded individual with a sense of humour; Likes cats; Respectful, kind and person-centred; Awareness and acceptance around differences in social connection; Confident driver; Reliable and punctual.
I identify as ADHD and recently received an Autism diagnosis. I am most able to communicate one-to-one when my nervous system is settled and I am in a sensory- safe space. My brain is monotropic, meaning I function best when my attention can rest deeply in one thing at a time. Being required to split my attention, means cognitive and sensory strain. In a single-interest flow state, I am more regulated, present, and creative. I require a person open to Neurodiversity Affirming philosophy willing to expand notions of normalcy, and work with my highly sensitive nervous system and fluctuating energy levels whilst respecting my autonomy.
This P.A. role is one of following my natural rhythm i.e. Verbal processing in gentle conversation, quiet contemplation, low demand outings, occasional appointments and sensory supportive co-existence (e.g. crafting, gardening, meditative activity) in my home and out in the community when desired or seasonally appropriate.
Position hire subject to an enhanced DBS check by CCC
