The Assistant HART Manager (Quality) provides leadership and assurance for quality, compliance, and governance within the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART). The role ensures high standards of clinical care, training, and operational delivery, while supporting strategic oversight and continuous improvement. Acting as the lead for governance and quality initiatives, the post holder will maintain compliance with statutory, regulatory, and professional standards, and foster a culture of safety, learning, and innovation. Once trained, the post holder will participate in the NILO/Tactical Advisor on-call rota. Main responsibilities include: Lead quality improvement programmes and clinical governance processes across HART. Ensure compliance with CQC standards, EPRR core standards, and internal audit frameworks. Develop, implement, and monitor SOPs, clinical audit programmes, and risk registers. Provide assurance that standards are met and maintained; horizon scan for emerging risks and propose mitigation strategies. Support incident investigations, learning reviews, and implementation of recommendations. Mentor and coach staff to achieve quality objectives and performance standards. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to promote quality, safety, and interoperability. Contribute to strategic planning and operational oversight of HART services. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation, professional standards, and governance frameworks. Deputise for the HART & Special Operations Manager when required. Respond operationally as NILO/Tactical Advisor once trained and vetted.
