Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday
Salary: £29,271 - £36,588 per annum plus a car allowance
Contract: Fixed term contract up to 12 months
Location: Dartford / Agile

We’re delivering a major digital transformation programme, and we’re looking for a Digital Field Support Engineer to play a key role in the rollout of our digital switchover project.
This is a hands-on, field-based role, working across our sites to support the installation of new internet connectivity and digital alarm line solutions. You’ll work closely with third-party vendors, internal IT teams, and end users to ensure systems are installed, tested, documented, and fully operational.
Alongside project work, you’ll also provide a professional, high-quality IT support service, helping ensure our technology services are reliable, secure, and deliver value for money.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the road, working directly with technology in real environments, and supporting users face-to-face as well as remotely.
What you’ll be doing:
Working on-site across multiple locations, overseeing the installation and testing of new internet connections
Supporting third-party vendors with the installation, testing, and sign-off of digital alarm line solutions
Running through installation and testing activities to ensure systems meet agreed specifications
Auditing and documenting all site locations, including equipment inventories, photographs, and configuration details
Uploading accurate site and asset data into the IT Service Management (ITSM) system
Handling incoming IT support tickets accurately and professionally, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
Monitoring ticket progress, providing regular updates, and driving resolution within agreed SLA timescales
Providing first- and second-line support for hardware, software, and communications issues
Acting as an effective interface between users, third-party suppliers, and internal IT teams
Supporting system monitoring, security, patching, and virus protection activities
Assisting with asset management, contract administration, and renewal activities
Maintaining accurate records and managing data in line with our Data Governance Framework and relevant legislation
Carrying out additional duties aligned with the role, as required by the Service Delivery Manager
We’re looking for someone with:
Essential requirements
Full UK driving licence and access to a car every day (this role is predominantly field-based)
Good standard of general education
Relevant IT certifications (e.g. A+, Network+, MCDST or similar)
Strong understanding of:
Windows client installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
PC hardware and software maintenance
Printer and scanner support
Microsoft Office applications
Messaging and email technologies
Internet technologies
Structured cabling solutions
Desirable / additional knowledge
Microsoft server platforms (including Exchange and SQL Server)
TCP/IP protocols and network configuration
Cisco IP telephony, switching, and routing
Virtualisation technologies (server, desktop, or application)
Working knowledge of the ITIL framework
