Summary

Are you an SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next role in Erdington (B23)

Winner Education are working with a secondary SEMH school in Erdington who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to start immediately. This is a long-term role, supporting young people aged 14–19 with challenging behaviour and SEMH needs, providing both classroom support and pastoral care.

What You’ll Do:
  • Support pupils with SEMH, challenging behaviour, ASD, and additional learning needs


  • Provide 1:1 and small group support in and out of the classroom


  • Assist with practical learning activities and engagement strategies


  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management


  • Supervise pupils during breaks, lunch, and transitions


  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to follow individual behaviour and learning plans


  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment


    What We’re Looking For:
    • Experience supporting young people with SEMH and challenging behaviour


    • Calm, resilient, and confident in managing behaviour


    • Strong communication and relationship-building skills


    • Flexible and able to adapt to individual pupil needs


    • Previous experience in a secondary school, PRU, or alternative provision is desirable but not essential
