Nurture Education is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate PMLD Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist setting in Cranleigh. This role is ideal for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs.
The Role:
As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with complex physical, medical, and learning needs, helping them to access learning in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting pupils with PMLD on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting with personal care, mobility, and medical needs where required
- Supporting communication using appropriate strategies and resources
- Working alongside teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Promoting pupils' independence, wellbeing, and engagement
- Maintaining a calm, supportive, and structured learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has experience working with pupils with PMLD or complex needs (essential)
- Is patient, compassionate, and resilient
- Has an understanding of sensory learning approaches
- Is confident supporting personal care and physical needs
- Has strong teamwork and communication skills
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
