Supported Housing Officer (Graduate Opportunity)

London Borough of Southwark and Lewisham

Up to £29,000

This is an opportunity for a recent graduate to join Hyde as a Supported Housing Officer. This is a great opportunity to begin a career in social housing, with full training and ongoing support to help you build confidence, capability and a long-term career in a role that genuinely makes a difference.

About the role

As a Supported Housing Officer, you’ll play a key role in helping our customers live safely, independently and with dignity. You’ll gain hands-on experience across housing management while working closely with customers, partner agencies and internal teams. Every day is different, and every interaction has impact.

You’ll be a visible and trusted presence within our schemes, supporting customer wellbeing, maintaining safe homes and contributing to strong, connected communities.

What you’ll be doing

Carrying out monthly property and scheme inspections, identifying repairs, risks and issues, and recording findings clearly with notes and photographs
Completing health, safety and fire compliance checks and following up required actions
Supporting customer wellbeing through regular calls and visits, making referrals to specialist services where needed
Acting as a key point of contact for customers on tenancy matters and communal services
Managing tenancy issues, anti-social behaviour and neighbour disputes, escalating to specialist teams when appropriate
Supporting the financial management of schemes, including reviewing service charge estimates and ensuring value for money
About you

We’re looking for someone who is motivated, organised and genuinely passionate about supporting people. You don’t need previous housing experience — we’ll provide full training — but you will bring:

Experience in a customer-focused role (for example housing, property, retail, hospitality or care)
Strong communication skills, with the ability to build trust and handle sensitive situations
Good organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to juggle priorities
Empathy, resilience and a real interest in housing, community support or social impact
Why join Hyde?

Hyde owns and manages 40,000 homes and supports over 100,000 customers across London, the South East and surrounding areas. Our purpose is simple: by providing safe, decent homes, we help people build better lives and stronger communities.

We’re an organisation with a strong social purpose, long-term investment plans and a growing focus on innovation — making Hyde a place where you can develop, progress and make a meaningful difference.
