Join Our Team at Bolney Community Café. As a non profit making organisation our aim is to provide a welcoming environment for everyone to meet and socialise whilst enjoying refreshments at affordable prices. We have a small management committee and you will report to our chairperson. As our only paid employee you will be responsible for the kitchen and food preparation whilst being supported by our shift volunteers who assist by serving and clearing away and washing up.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a friendly environment where you will contribute to the wellbeing of our community whilst gaining valuable experience. The Café is housed in our beautiful village hall and has parking beside the attractive community field and children’s play area.
Your holiday entitlement will be 17 days to include Bank Holidays and 2 weeks over Christmas and the New Year period leaving you 2 weeks in addition. You will be eligible for Nest Pension contributions.
Our Ideal Candidate: - Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above). - Experience in catering or kitchen operations. – Friendly and understanding – working with volunteers and the community. If your passionate about food and nutrition and maybe you have experience as Chef, an Assistant Chef, a Cook or managed a Cafe apply now!
Key Responsibilities
• To provide breakfast, lunch meals and cakes using wholesome ingredients of proper quantity and quality
• To maintain the highest standards of hygiene and safety in accordance with official requirements and best practice
• To complete all documentation relating to HACCP
• To ensure the good order of our kitchen and kitchen equipment and to report all deficiencies
• To ensure good quality and portion control and minimal wastage
• To assist with menu planning and stock ordering.
• Guidance of volunteers as necessary
• Controlling the cash received and safe passage to our Treasurer.
