We are delighted to offer a12-month secondment forDeputy Professional Lead Nurse within ourAdult Community ServicesDivision.
TheAdult Community Service Division iscommitted to a continuous quality improvementand safetyagenda. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the division has robust structures, processes and systems in place to support a workforce that is fit for the future and that is competent and able to deliver safe, high quality services and excellent patient care.

• Deputising for the Nursing Professional Lead as required
• Acting as a member of the wider clinical division management structure provide strong, clear visionary leadership through team working to ensure effective operational management and delivery of nursing services.
• To work closely with the divisional clinical operational leads to ensure that the Professional voice of Nursing is clearly articulated in all operational and service transformation matters
• Under the direction of the Nursing Professional Lead, lead and participate in Trust quality walks and assurance visits to enable the division to have clear oversight of compliance with
The key purpose of the role is to support the Divisional Nursing Professional Lead with the delivery of the divisional vision and strategy for Professional Leadership for Nurses.
As the Deputy Nursing Professional Lead you will make a key contribution to the delivery of safe high-quality care by ensuring nurses are professionally developed within their roles. This will be through 3 core areas:
Care quality- improvement and research, patient safety and experience, clinical effectiveness, safe staffing assurance, safeguarding and service transformation.
• Clinical practice– working at an advanced professional clinical level supporting, enabling, and advising on best nursing practice andstandards including working clinically as required
· Education- Continuing professional development, workforce development, preceptorship, and student education.

• To deputise for the Nursing Professional Lead as required
• As a member of the wider clinical division management structure provide strong, clear visionary leadership through team working to ensure effective operational management and delivery of nursing services.
• To work closely with the divisional clinical operational leads to ensure that the Professional voice of Nursing is clearly articulated in all operational and service transformation matters
• Under the direction of the Nursing Professional Lead, lead and participate in Trust quality walks and assurance visits to enable the division to have clear oversight of compliance with all domains of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulatory framework
• Provide clinical input and expertise to clinical teams as part of the divisional management team structure on a wide range of nursing professional and clinical issues
· To demonstrate clinical expertiseinnursing practice and promote a climate of excellence supporting nursing teams with implementation of key standards andpolicies.
· To provide advice to the nurses in the division on matters relating to the nursing workforce, helping develop a shared understanding of the range of nursing specialties and roles and how they can contribute to delivering the Trust priorities.
· Co-ordinate events and forums that offer education on professional nursing related matters
· Ensure the delivery of the Professional Nursing Strategy within the division providing assurance to the Nursing Professional Lead on progress with all workstreams.
· As delegated by the Nursing Professional Lead, lead on opportunities and initiatives that promote BCHC as a leading employer for nurses through attracting and retaining nurses from a broad range ofspecialties.
· To support complex workforce development activityforthe nursing workforce, highlighting nursing workforce issues, priorities and funding requirements
· Support the development of career pathways, mentorship and coaching for nurses within the division.
· To work collaboratively with Divisional and Trust colleagues, to develop and implement professional standards for nursing across the division which supports professional development, leadership, competence, capacity, and standards of conduct.
· Make a key contribution to the development of Professional Nursing Advocacy within the division in line with the Trust Strategy
· To be responsible for establishing and maintaining strong and effective partnerships and stakeholder relationships across local, regional, and nationalnetworks.
· To promote excellence in nursing practice in all clinical areas therefore improving patient safety, experience, andoutcomes.
· To contribute to the development of nurse specific essential to role training that ensures nurses have access to the education and training needs for their role
· Support the Nursing Professional Lead with oversight and compliance with the NMC standards of professional conduct
· To work in partnership with the Patient Experience team to improve patient experience andoutcomes using innovative solutions to hear the patient voice including co-production strategies
· Work closely with the Professional Development Team to expand the numbers of nurse’s students within the clinical division and ensure that placements are of high quality.
· The post holder will participate in the Divisional on call rota where required
