Summary
Salaried GP (Fixed Term 12 Months, with a View to Substantive Post) Base The Crouch Hall Road Surgery, London Hours 6 clinical sessions per week Job Purpose The Crouch Hall Road Surgery is seeking a motivated and reflective Salaried GP to join our supportive, forward-thinking team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with a clear intention to offer a substantive post for the right candidate. This role is suited to a GP who is quality improvement minded, aspiring as an educationalist, and keen to contribute to a collaborative, learning-focused general practice environment. The post-holder will work independently within a supportive multidisciplinary team and contribute positively to clinical care, education, and service improvement. Main Duties and Responsibilities The post-holder will be expected to undertake the usual duties of a salaried GP within a NHS practice, supported by robust systems and an experienced clinical and administrative team. Duties will include: Providing high-quality, patient-centred general medical services to the practice population Undertaking routine and urgent patient consultations, including face-to-face and remote consultations as appropriate Working as a triage doctor within the practices total triage model, as part of a supportive triage team that includes another GP and a clinical pharmacist team Undertaking home visits when clinically appropriate, in line with agreed practice arrangements Managing clinical correspondence, pathology results, and other patient-related tasks in a timely and safe manner Completing onward referrals and liaising with secondary care and community services as required Maintaining accurate and contemporaneous clinical records using the practice clinical system Clinical Model and Support The practice operates a total triage model, with triage undertaken collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team 15-minute face-to-face appointments are provided as standard Administrative workload is supported by a centralised administrative team, including GP Assistants (GPAs), to reduce unnecessary administrative burden on clinicians The post-holder will have access to daily senior clinical support and advice The practice works closely with a strong multidisciplinary team, including nurses, pharmacists, PCN roles, and experienced administrative staff Education, Training and Quality Improvement Education and continuous improvement are central to the culture of The Crouch Hall Road Surgery. The practice actively supports and supervises medical students, GP trainees, and clinical pharmacists. The post-holder will be expected to: Contribute to a learning and reflective practice environment Participate in quality improvement activity, clinical governance, and service development Support teaching, supervision, and educational activity as appropriate Engage in continuing professional development in line with GMC requirements Mentorship and support are available to help develop educational, portfolio, or quality improvement interests over time.
