Job Title: HR Advisor
Location: Brigg Garden Centre - Head Office
Hours: 40 Hours Per Week Monday to Friday
About Us
British Garden Centres is the UK’s largest family owned garden centre group, with over 73 centres nationwide. Founded by the Stubbs family, the business has grown rapidly through significant expansion and acquisitions, evolving from its first site at Woodthorpe Garden Centre into a national brand.
The group now includes garden centres, restaurants, nurseries and distribution centres, employing more than 3,500 colleagues across the UK. Despite its scale, British Garden Centres maintains strong family values, a community focus, and a commitment to providing a welcoming and supportive environment for both customers and employees.
The Role
Due to our continued growth, we are now seeking a confident and capable HR Advisor to join our team. A flexible, proactive approach and the ability to thrive in a busy environment are key as you will be the first point of contact for all HR related matters.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide practical HR advice on all employee relation matters including absence, disciplinaries, grievances and performance management.
• Coordinate Occupational Health referrals and recommend next steps.
• Build strong working relationships across all levels.
• Produce monthly HR metric reports and highlight trends.
• Identify training needs and help deliver targeted HR training to managers.
• Maintain up to date employment law and HR best practice knowledge.
• Provide support with recruitment activity.
About You
You have experience in a generalist HR role and feel confident supporting managers with everyday people matters. You understand UK employment law, communicate clearly and build trust easily. You are organised, detail focused and comfortable working in a fast paced environment. Most importantly, you are proactive, solutions focused and genuinely motivated to help managers develop their teams. CIPD qualification (or working towards it) is welcomed.
What We Offer
• Employee discount across our Garden Centres, Restaurants and Leisure Park
• Free onsite parking
