Warehouse Operatives
Location: Holmewood
Pay: £12.21 per hour (weekdays & weekend rate)
Shift Pattern: 6am - 6pm | 4 on 4 off
Start Date: Monday 2nd February (possible earlier start Friday 30th January)
Thorn Baker are recruiting for multiple Warehouse Operatives to support a high-volume coding and handling project within a busy cold storage facility, serving the UK food supply chain. The site specialises in temperature-controlled storage, blast freezing, contract packing, date coding and labelling for chilled & frozen goods.
As a Warehouse Operative you will:
- Work in cold store conditions ~2-3°C safely handling chilled food products
- Remove packaged products from pallets and position them onto an automated line
- Monitor coded product as it passes through a laser coding system
- Handle and re-palletise the coded product at the end of the line
- Work in teams of 4, with two teams running the line each day
This is physical, fast-paced work that's essential to meeting tight daily productivity goals.
The ideal Warehouse Operative candidates will be:
• Reliable team players with a positive attitude
• Comfortable working in cold environments
• Able to handle repetitive physical tasks
• Prior warehouse experience is preferred but not essential. We will brief on process and safety
•PPE Required - Safety boots, Hi-vis vest and gloves are required, and can be provided by Thorn Baker if needed.
