Applications are invited for the post of Placement and Year in Industry Administration Officer to support the Year in Industry Programmes.
The Placement and Year in Industry Administration Officer will report to and work as part of the Placements Team in the Careers & Employability Service. However, they will be primarily assigned to support the placement offering within the Faculty of Science.
The post holder will be responsible for promoting placements programmes to students and employers, including supporting / organising events and maintaining communications through a range of channels. Furthermore, the successful candidate will prepare students for their year in industry and support them throughout the placement journey in close collaboration with academic staff within Faculty. The appointee will also administer a range of aspects of the Year in Industry programmes including issuing paperwork and maintaining accurate placement records for each student. As a member of the Careers & Employability Service there will also be the opportunity to support careers related tasks and events.
The appointee will require a high level of attention to detail and organisational skills, the ability to work under pressure and to work on their own initiative. The successful candidate will also have experience of building effective relationships and of working in a strongly customer-focused environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also essential as is computer literacy in MS Office.
