We are a small family run business specialising in the food trade, delivering our products to local pubs, hotels and restaurants etc.
We are currently looking to recruit Delivery Driver/Warehouse Operative who will need to be physically fit to cope with the demands of this position in a very busy environment.
This role will include the helping of picking orders, loading vans, delivering goods and collecting payments from customers as well as assisting with the day to day operations of the warehouse. A good knowledge of the local area would be an advantage.
Delivery Driver Element:
About the role:
You’ll assist with loading vans, delivering goods and collecting payments from customers.
Main duties include:
• Driving a 3.5 tonne van to deliver orders to local customers
• Picking and loading customer orders
• Working as part of a small, friendly team
Requirements:
• Full driving licence (no more than 3 points) held for at least 3 years
• Experience driving 3.5 tonne vans would be an advantage
• Good timekeeping, attention to detail and a positive attitude
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to represent the company professionally when interacting with customers
• Good knowledge of local and regional roadways and routes
• You will need your own transport to travel to and our depot due to the rural location of the business and be physically fit to cope with the demands of this position in a very busy environment
Warehouse Element
Responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the warehouse. This includes handling incoming and outgoing goods, maintaining accurate stock levels, ensuring a clean and safe working environment and adhering to company processes and procedures.
Goods Receipt and Dispatch:
• Unload deliveries and check them for accuracy
• Inspect and verify product conditions upon receipt
• Picking orders for ready for delivery
Stock Management:
• Store products in their correct locations
• Perform regular stock checks and ensure inventory accuracy
• Report any discrepancies, shortages or damage to stock / orders
• Stock rotation – ensuring the oldest stock can be accessed first
• Assist in maintaining warehouse organisation
Part-time hours:
Part time hours will be 9am start until 15.30 , but flexibility required in the seasonal higher volume periods, include picking orders in the warehouse role.
Please note that this is a 5-day working week role with flexible working days available Monday to Saturday, to be arranged with you.
