Quality Inspector

Location: Telford
Salary: £15 - £17 an hour (depending on experience)
Working hours: 36 hours per week | Mon–Thurs 8:00am–4:45pm, Fri 8:00am–12:00pm

We are looking for experienced Quality Inspectors to join the business on a 3–6 month fixed-term contract, where you’ll support the day‑to‑day processing of incoming parts and materials, ensuring all quality, safety and procedural standards are met. This is a great opportunity for someone with hands‑on engineering knowledge who’s looking to take the next step in their career.

The hiring manager is seeking candidates with proven engineering experience and hands‑on exposure to working with engineering components, be confident interpreting technical drawings, and have hands‑on experience using measurement tools and equipment commonly found in an engineering environment.

This role would be ideal for candidates with previous experience as a Quality Assurance Assistant, Quality Control Operative, Quality Operative, Materials Inspector, Engineering Technician (with a quality focus), or Assembly Quality Technician.

What You’ll Do:

Joining the established QHSE Team, you’ll play a key role in meeting customer expectations around quality, delivery, and cost, whilst supporting wider business and industry requirements. You will be required to:

• Verify incoming components and quantities against purchase orders
• Liaise with internal teams to ensure efficient booking-in processes
• Maintain accurate records and filing in line with corporate guidelines
• Support quality and customer audits as required
• Maintain excellent housekeeping and 5S standards
• Participate in QHSE activities and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Complete training to remain compliant with all regulatory and corporate requirements
• Assist across the wider Materials Management Group, including kitting, stocktaking, and dispatch
• Willingness to work overtime (evenings/weekends) when needed
• Occasional travel may be required, including overnight stays

What We’re Looking for in a Quality Inspector:

• Flexible, team-oriented and reliable with strong timekeeping
• High attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Able to work under pressure and adapt to change
• Computer literate – MS Word & Excel (training provided)
• Able to work independently using own initiative
• Calm, proactive approach with problem-solving abilities
• Ability to read CAD drawings
• Proficient with measurement tools such as micrometers, verniers, etc.
