Associate Medical Director - Critical Care:

An opportunity has become available for the position ofAssociate Medical Director (Critical Care)with Yorkshire Ambulance Service. The post comes with a broad variety of responsibilities as outlined in the job description but central to the role is providing leadership and oversight of critical care delivered on behalf of Yorkshire Ambulance Service. The post is for two days per week and would work well as part of a portfolio career.

The successful applicant will be a consultant level practitioner with extensive experience of pre-hospital emergency medicine and pre-hospital critical care. The successful applicant will also have extensive managerial experience, and would be able to work well under pressure as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

The Associate Medical Director (Critical Care) has overarchingaccountability for Critical Care delivered to patients attended by Yorkshire Ambulance Service, allowing him/her to provide assurance to the Executive Medical Director about the safety and standards of Critical Care within the organisation.

The AMDCC will work with the teams providing critical care to ensure that he/she is assured that robust governance is in place and will oversee appropriate reporting mechanisms for this.

The AMDCC will provide strategic guidance and overview of critical care delivered to patients attended by Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

The AMDCC willprovide leadership for the training and operational aspects of the Medical Advisors and Strategic Medical Advisors.

Furthermore, the AMDCC will provide support forEPRR, research and medical students placements within the YAS, as well as providing medical expertise when requested.
