We are seeking a caring and reliable Personal Assistant (PA) to support a gentleman with Down syndrome to access his local community and participate in a range of sporting activities. The role involves providing one-to-one support to build confidence, encourage independence, and ensure safe, enjoyable involvement in activities such as gym sessions, swimming, team sports, and community events. You will offer practical and motivational support, promote social interaction, and follow individual support plans while respecting dignity, choice, and individuality. Previous experience as a PA or an interest in sports and inclusion is desirable.
The Personal Assistant will be responsible for providing one-to-one support to enable the individual to safely access the community and take part in a variety of sporting and social activities. Responsibilities include offering practical and motivational support, promoting independence and confidence, supporting with travel and timekeeping, ensuring wellbeing and safety, and encouraging positive social interaction. The PA will follow agreed support plans, communicate effectively with family or professionals as required, and always uphold dignity, respect, and personal choice.
