General Paediatrics: This post will suit those wishing to gain substantial experience in a large, well supervised unit with a mixed general and subspecialist patient group. Duties will involve daily assessment of the children, planning of treatment, organising and arranging investigations, and liaison with other departments and teams. Paediatric Infectious Diseases/oncology: You will be part of the ward team caring for all patients on Pinckney ward, the paediatric infectious diseases and oncology ward. Children admitted to Pinckney ward have a variety of infectious conditions such as tuberculosis, meningitis and HIV. You will also be involved in caring for patients with an oncological diagnosis who are admitted either for chemotherapy or febrile illness. You will have the opportunity to attend infectious diseases meeting, and attend specialty clinics. Paediatric Surgery: St Georges is the regional referral centre for children requiring paediatric surgery. Children are admitted electively for a range of procedures, many of these with co-morbid medical conditions and complex needs. Acutely children are also referred for emergency surgery from regional hospitals. Paediatric Neurosciences: St Georges is also a regional neurosurgical centre and hosts regional tertiary paediatric neurology. The teams work closely in the care of children with complex needs and provide a number of specialist treatments. St Georges is also a major trauma centre and provides care for children with the sequelae of major trauma. Duties will involve daily assessment of the children, participating in neurosurgical and neurology consultant led ward rounds, and working with the specialists to arrange investigations and treatment. Paediatric Community Services: The paediatric neurodevelopmental, neurodisability and epilepsy service is well established and offers a child-centred, consultant led service. It is part of the integrated child health department of St Georges Hospital and offers a comprehensive service for a wide range of neurodevelopmental problems (including ADHD and ASD), complex neurodisability,
