Description:
A young gentleman is looking for a Personal Assistant to support him to his Daily Placement on a farm 2 days a week, Tuesday and Thursday. As a Personal Assistant you will be required to provide support in a range of areas including, but not limited to:
- Support with behavioural challenges, provide reassurance and prompts around daily routine and thinking on your feet
- Be strong willed, confident, empathetic, attentive and very patient
- Provide support through episodes of epilepsy, training will be given through parents
- To accompany the young man to his farm placements and get him involved in all daily routines whilst there 10am-3pm
- To collect him from his home in Ashford and then drive his automatic car to the farm in Staplehurst, spend 5 hours there supporting him to do chores on the farm and drive back.
We are looking for someone who can start working with the young man immediately. You will need to collect him from his parents house in Ashford and then drive him in his car to the farm in Staplehurst and then return to Ashford at end of the day. Stopping somewhere for coffee on the way home. He is autistic, non-verbal and has epilepsy. When his seizures come along he cannot warn you so you have to pay attention to him constantly so you can protect him when needed. Experience in any of these fields would be great but it is not essential and in this case being a keen learner would be an advantage. If you are friendly, enthusiastic, motivated and caring and want to support someone to remain independent for the next few months then this job is ideal for you.
