SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Day-to-day supply from as soon as possible These flexible opportunities are ideal for SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings.Duties as SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
- Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies
- Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and achieving their learning goals
- Foster positive relationships to build confidence and engagement
- Assist with personal care and mobility needs where required
- Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to monitor progress
- Promote inclusion and encourage independence in learning and social situations
- Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly in a 1:1 capacity
- Knowledge of a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting pupils
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt to different school environments and pupil needs
- Relevant qualifications in education or child development are desirable
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
