MIDAS, one of the UK's most successful inward investment agencies, is seeking a new Business Development Executive - Financial, Professional and Business Services to support the team in attracting companies to establish a presence in Greater Manchester.

You will need a passion for Manchester, a positive and proactive attitude, some work experience in a busy commercial sales environment and an interest in the Financial, Professional and Business Services sector.

The successful candidate will support the Head of Sector and Business Development Manager (BDM) with the delivery of MIDAS’ core services to existing and potential investors in Greater Manchester and assist MIDAS to meet annual inward investment targets from the MIDAS business plan.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage delivery of MIDAS services to new and existing investors, supporting inward investment and job creation targets.
Handle and triage investor enquiries across web, phone and email, escalating to Head of Department/Business Development Manager where needed.
Conduct research and lead generation to support proposition development and identify new investment opportunities.
Provide after care support to newly landed investors as directed by senior colleagues.
Monitor FDI (foreign direct investment) alerts and market data to source and qualify potential investment leads.
Collaborate with internal teams and partners including universities and GC organisations to enhance service delivery and client value.
Support wider business development activity such as events, networking, client meetings, CRM updates and reporting.

Demonstrates professionalism and integrity, bringing a personable approach grounded in strong ethical standards.
Requirements:

Educated to degree level, with additional business related qualifications preferred.
Proven experience in proactive lead generation, identifying and developing new opportunities.
Strong understanding of the sales process, gained through sales or sales support roles.
Skilled in research and information gathering, with the ability to analyse and present findings effectively.
Project management capability, supported by relevant experience or formal qualifications.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage confidently with diverse stakeholders.
Adaptable and versatile, contributing effectively across varied tasks and environments.
