At Rikama Education, we are seeking talented individuals who can bring creativity and energy to supporting pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties, all with an EHCP.
Our ideal candidates enjoy working as part of a dedicated team, helping children progress across the curriculum. You will work across classroom, community, sport, swimming and personal care settings.
You will bring creativity and versatility, using skills as an artist, storyteller, entertainer, cook and community explorer. You will support teamwork, create resources, help pupils access the community, and promote independence through modelling and self-care support.
Every day, you will offer a warm, welcoming attitude, demonstrating your passion for education, play and care. Flexibility, empathy and initiative are essential.
Experience as a Teaching Assistant with SEND pupils is preferred, but training is provided for the right attitude and aptitude.
A Day at the school with Rikama Education
The day starts at 8.30am with TAs preparing learning areas. Pupils arrive by bus, and TAs support transitions, morning tasks and Circle Time. Lessons include Communication, Phonics, Numeracy for Life and Literacy for Life, alongside other subjects using the Equals Curriculum. Pupils make choices at snack time and socialise at lunch, which includes Lunch Clubs. Afternoons involve creative activities like Community Learning, Art, PE, Drama, Yoga, Swimming and Enterprise, ending with Story Time. TAs record learning, complete CPOMs and CPD. The school day ends at 4.00pm.
