We're recruiting on behalf of a college who are looking for an Electrical Installation Lecturer as follows.
Type - Temp to Perm or straight Perm,
Start - ASAP,
Hours - 37 per-week,
Great temp rates and salary up to 46k base pa,
Enhanced DBS needed,
Reports to: Head of Department / Curriculum Manager
Location: Birmingham
Contract Type: Full-time / Permanent
The Electrical Installation Lecturer is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment to students studying electrical installation programmes. The role involves supporting learners to develop practical skills, theoretical knowledge, and professional behaviours in line with industry standards and awarding body requirements.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons across a range of Electrical Installation courses (e.g. Level 1-3).
- Teach both practical workshop-based sessions and classroom-based theory.
- Assess student work in line with awarding body and internal quality assurance requirements.
- Monitor learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and support achievement and progression.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment, and learner progress.
- Prepare students for employment within the electrical industry, promoting safe working practices at all times.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within workshops and teaching areas.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of programmes.
- Participate in team meetings, standardisation, training, and continuous professional development (CPD).
- Support learners with additional needs and promote equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Level 3 qualification (or above) in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- Relevant industry experience as a qualified electrician.
- Strong knowledge of current electrical regulations (e.g. BS 7671).
- Ability to teach and assess practical and theoretical content effectively.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of learners.
- Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
- Assessor qualification (TAQA/A1) or Internal Verifier qualification.
- Experience teaching in a further education or training environment.
- Up-to-date industry CPD and specialist electrical certifications.
