“Parkview” is an exciting project to enable a young man to leave a learning disability assessment and treatment inpatient service, to lead a fulfilling life in his own home.
We are looking to recruit innovative, creative and resilient support workers to work with Matthew to transition to his newly renovated home in Felixstowe.
This role is essential in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of Matthew throughout his daily activities. You will be responsible for monitoring his needs, offering reassurance, and providing care and support as required. Maintaining a calm and supportive presence, you will help create a peaceful environment where he feels secure and respected.
We will train you to provide personalised support and follow Matthew's support plan to meet his needs and aspirations. You will be promoting independence and allowing Matthew to exert choice and control over the way his support is delivered.
Matthew loves to be busy and active, getting out and about in the local community. Routine and structure is important, predictability is key to ensure that he can live his best life. He enjoys interacting with people who are energetic, pro-active, have a sense of fun and will banter with him.
Experience providing support to adults with Learning disabilities and Autism is desirable but wanting to learn is essential. Training will be given to enhance your knowledge of supporting people with challenging behaviour, working with their PBS plan and PBS practitioners to proactively support Matthew to have a good quality of life.
Hours
Part time hours available, 30 hours per week- we are also looking to build our bank staff.
After the transitional period support hours will develop into 24/7 provision.
Location
Postcode IP11 – Trimley, St Mary which offers free parking and good access to local transport, however in the initial stages you will be learning about Matthew alongside his hospital staff team, located IP3 8LY
About you:
