Applications are sought for a committed Post-doctoral Research Assistant to work with Gareth Sullivan conducting research for a Revive & Restore - Catalyst Science Fund program funded project entitled “Investing in the Ethiopian Wolf's Future: Biobanking and iPSC-Based Conservation”. The primary duties will be to establish, characterise, and cryopreserve a biobank of high-viability fibroblast from different Canids and develop/optimise/validate robust/reproducible protocols for the generation of induced pluripotent stem cells from cryopreserved Canid fibroblasts including Ethiopian and Grey Wolf. You will be involved in the production/dissemination of user-friendly SOPs for laboratory and biobanking protocols established during the project, ensuring standardisation, quality control, and long-term operational sustainability for our Ethiopian partner institutions. Also aid in the design and delivery of an intensive, primarily hands-on, training program (workshop) in Ethiopia for scientists/technicians covering the full workflow: from biopsy to fibroblast culture, cell line maintenance, iPSC reprogramming and culture, pluripotency assessment, cryopreservation/biobanking techniques, and basic guided differentiation methods.
