The Opportunity

If so, this is an excellent opportunity to join Barnsley College as a GCSE English Teacher within our growing Construction department.
We are seeking a highly motivated and inspirational teacher to strengthen our team and support learners in achieving outstanding outcomes. As a college, we are committed to ensuring GCSE English is delivered in a way that maximises engagement, accessibility and achievement. To support this, our GCSE teachers work with smaller cohorts, allowing for more personalised teaching and greater learner support.

In this role, you will support the delivery of teaching and learning activities, promote independent learning beyond the classroom, and provide additional extended one-to-one and group learning and study activities across curriculum areas. You will continuously stretch and challenge learners to achieve their full potential, maintaining high expectations and striving for outstanding levels of performance and achievement.

About You
You will be a learner focused, quality driven teacher who is passionate about supporting students to achieve the very best outcomes. Whether you are newly qualified or an experienced professional, you will be committed to delivering engaging, accessible lessons that motivate and inspire learners.
You will have the ability to build positive relationships, encourage independent learning, and provide additional support where needed. Your teaching approach will be underpinned by high expectations, a commitment to continuous improvement, and a genuine desire to see learners succeed.

Required
• Hold a recognised teaching qualification (Cert Ed, PGCE or equivalent)
• Possess a Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in English
• Hold Level 2 Maths (Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent)
• Have at least one years’ experience working within an educational setting
• Experience of delivering learning to a range of learners
• Experience of developing learning materials
