A leading housing association in Newcastle is embarking on a significant digital and operational transformation. To support this, they are seeking a Senior IT Project Manager with strong business change expertise to deliver complex, cross‑functional projects that enhance customer service, streamline operations and improve colleague experience.This role is ideal for a proactive, influential Senior PM who thrives in transformation environments and wants to make a meaningful impact within a purpose‑driven organisation.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Delivery

  • Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of complex IT and business change projects, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy.
  • Define scope, build project plans, identify resources, set budgets and establish governance in line with the organisation's PM framework.
  • Drive risk and issue management, ensuring clear escalation routes and proactive mitigation.
  • Manage delivery across multiple workstreams, including technical delivery, business readiness and process redesign.
  • Track project performance against KPIs, timelines and financial targets.
  • Ensure strong documentation, decision logs and audit trails throughout project lifecycle.
  • Oversee project close‑down, benefits realisation and lessons learned.

Stakeholder & Change Management

  • Engage, influence and support a wide range of stakeholders across IT, operations, customer services and external partners.
  • Lead change impact assessments, communications planning and business readiness activities.
  • Ensure change is effectively embedded across teams, enabling sustainable adoption.
  • Facilitate workshops, design sessions and cross‑functional collaboration.

Governance & Best Practice

  • Promote and uphold best‑practice project and change management standards.
  • Contribute to PMO maturity by supporting continuous improvement of tools, templates and methodologies.
  • Coach colleagues, supporting capability growth within the wider project and change community.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging trends in digital transformation and business change.

Experience & Skills RequiredExperience

  • Strong track record delivering complex IT-led and business change projects within large organisations.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams and dependencies.
  • Proven success delivering projects within time, cost and quality constraints.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making across diverse teams.
  • Background within housing, social care or public sector is beneficial but not essential.
  • Familiarity with systems such as Salesforce, MRI, or housing management solutions is advantageous.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent understanding of IT project management methodologies and business change frameworks.
  • Strong communication, facilitation and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
  • Ability to lead cross‑functional teams without direct line management.
  • Confident in challenging constructively and navigating ambiguity.
  • Skilled in risk management, governance and structured delivery.
  • Knowledge of VUCA/BANI concepts helpful but not essential.
