We have an exciting opportunity for aBand 8A Advanced Practice Physiotherapist (APP) to join our established Adult Musculoskeletal (MSK) Assessment Service. We are a community-based service accepting a broad range of MSK referrals from local General Practitioners (GPs) to provide enhanced assessment, facilitating onward referral and management.
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate clinician with extensive experience in the assessment, management, and treatment of MSK conditions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
You will play a pivotal role in advanced clinical decision-making, supporting service development, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders. In return, we offer excellent opportunities for Continuing Professional Development (CPD)and broad personal growth.
• Comprehensive Assessment & Diagnosis: Undertake detailed assessments of patients with a wide range of physical and emotional needs.
• Clinical Decision-Making: Order and interpret diagnostic tests where appropriate and manage onward referrals.
• Triage & Case Management: Review referrals from GPs, including those with complex medical issues, and ensure timely, effective triage.
• Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration: Present cases succinctly at MDT meetings and liaise closely with consultant colleagues to facilitate onward care.
• Injection Therapy: Ideally contribute to the injection therapy service, administering corticosteroid injections for common MSK presentations.
• Teaching & Supervision: Provide clinical leadership, teaching, and supervision to the MSK Physiotherapy Service and support students and junior staff.
• Service Development: Promote a positive and dynamic culture, building productive relationships with local GPs and other stakeholders.
• Pain Service Liaison: Work closely with the Enfield Pain Service, a community-based multidisciplinary team with strong links to our service.

The post holder is part of the MSK physiotherapy team providing high quality physiotherapy services to meet the needs of a multicultural and diverse population of the London Borough of Enfield.
As one of the most senior members of the musculoskeletal physiotherapy service and as an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner (APP), your role will include screening, filter referrals and manage the care of those patients who otherwise would have been referred to and seen by a hospital Consultant. To achieve this the post=holder will work outside the normal scope of physiotherapy practice, facilitating Role Redesign and Service Modernisation across Primary and Secondary care.
To provide the highest level of expertise on musculoskeletal conditions within the physiotherapy service, providing expert advice to other services and professionals including GPs and hospital medical staff.
Participate actively in the senior management of the Physiotherapy service contributing to its wider support and development.
