Part time role (10 hours per week, split morning and afternoon during school times)
Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join our specialist team transporting SEND children from their homes to school. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the children, ensuring that they are comfortable and transported safely. This position requires excellent communication skills, and the ability to understand the needs of SEND children. The driver will work closely with a passenger guide to ensure timely collection and drop off.
Duties
Ensure children are comfortable.
Communicate effectively with the passenger assistant regarding any potential issues.
Perform routine checks on vehicle and ensure it is in good working condition.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle where child is sitting.
Handle paperwork related to children, such as risk assessments.
Provide excellent communication skills with parents and children whilst addressing any queries or concerns from children.
Experience
Previous experience working with SEND children is preferred.
Familiarity with risk assessments is also advantageous.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective collaboration with team members and children.
A valid enhanced DBS & School Badge is required (we will pay for).
