We are looking for a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our busy client in Taunton. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling a wide range of special purpose machines to high engineering standards.
This is a hands on role where attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and teamwork are key. You will be working with both hand and power tools, following technical drawings, and playing a vital role in maintaining our client’s high quality build standards.
Key Duties:
Assemble components to specification and technical drawings
Build small sub-assemblies and larger sections
Fit bearings, taper lock pulleys, and gears
Run pneumatic and hydraulic pipework
Carry out quality checks on completed work
Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Work with the wider team to resolve build issues and improve processes
Skills & Experience Required:
Previous experience working as a mechanical fitter or engineer
Mechanical engineering qualification
Confident using hand and power tools
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics
Fabrication experience would be an advantage
Strong communication skills and a positive, team focused attitude
Able to work independently and as part of a fast paced team

Employment Type: Permanent / Full Time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Overtime available
Remuneration: £18 p/h
Expected Hours: 37.5 per week
