Key Responsibilities:
Internal Auditing & Assurance
• Maintain Route 101’s annual risk based internal audit plan and compliance registers covering applicable ISO standards and regulatory requirements.
• Perform end to end internal audits, including but not limited to, scope definition, checklists, interviews, sampling, evidence gathering, audit trails, reporting, and follow up.
• Identify nonconformities, observations, and opportunities for improvement; track corrective actions to closure and verify effectiveness.
• Assist with Health & Safety audits and actions.
• Maintain impartiality and objectivity while auditing cross functional teams.
Compliance & Certification Readiness:
• Coordinate audits with external certification bodies; manage pre audit readiness reviews.
• Ensure policies, procedures, controls, and records meet ISO requirements and relevant legal/regulatory obligations.
• Monitor compliance calendars (e.g., policy reviews, internal audit schedule, training, risk assessments,) and escalate slippage proactively.
• Support risk & compliance activities with the relevant teams (e.g., risk registers, SoA and aspects & impacts).
Documentation & Administration:
• Document control: versioning, approvals, retention, distribution, and accessibility (SharePoint/Document Management System).
• Keep management system documents, process maps, training matrices, SOPs, current and audit ready.
• Manage and maintain compliance evidence repositories (e.g., registers, policies, supplier due diligence, incident reports).
Engagement & Continual Improvement:
• Where required, facilitate root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone) with process owners.
• Track and report on key compliance metrics.
• Support supplier audits and due diligence (questionnaires, certifications, risk ratings) as required.
Tools & Reporting:
• Use audit and compliance tools (e.g., SharePoint, Excel) to collect data, analyse trends, and maintain dashboard planners.
• Prepare internal audits for management reviews.
• Maintain confidentiality, data integrity, and robust audit trails.
Skills & Experience
• Experience: 2-4 years internal audit, compliance, quality or risk roles, preferably within ISO-certified environments desirable, but not essential, knowledge of at least one ISO Standard.
• Analytical & detail oriented: Digital fluency across the Microsoft 365 suite.
• Technology Expertise: Evidence based auditing, risk based thinking, trend analysis.
• Document Management: Strong documentation skills essential. Familiarity with audit methodologies, and continual improvement processes desirable.
• Communication: Confident with stakeholder engagement and interviewing; clear written communication skills essential.
• Organisation & Time Management Ability to handle multiple audits, actions, projects and deadlines.
