Alternative Provision | Secondary Aged Students

Hours: 09:00 until 14:30

We are currently working with an alternative provision setting to recruit a Learning Support Assistant to support secondary-aged students who are struggling academically and require additional support to re-engage with learning.
This role is ideal for someone who is confident working with young people in a small group setting, can build strong relationships, and is passionate about supporting students with additional needs.
The Role:
- Supporting secondary-aged students within an alternative provision environment
- Delivering two English lessons per week (planning is provided)
- Completing marking and feedback for delivered lessons
- Providing in-class support and encouragement to help students access learning
- Building positive, trusting relationships with young people who may be disengaged from mainstream education
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have experience supporting children or young people in an educational or youth setting
- Be confident working with groups of students
- Be able to build rapport and positive relationships with young people
- Be patient, resilient, and adaptable
- Be comfortable following existing lesson plans and completing marking
Desirable (But Not Essential):
- Experience or skills in PE, sports coaching, beauty therapy, or vocational subjects
- Previous experience in alternative provision, SEMH, or SEND settings
